Pain is Pleasure and Pleasure is Pain

FDateDistraction

What happens when you are caught in a trap that you couldn’t even foresee. You are no longer free and full of life because you have become a distraction and not just any distraction but that of a person who was caught in bad place, in search of anything or something to fill this empty space.

The lines were crossed, you tried putting them in their place and sticking to your decision but slowly as water defeats an eroding rock, your tough exterior begins to wither away and you become very soft and open to different suggestions.

Tried to be a good confidant and friend to lift them up in the time of need and vulnerability but now who will care for you in this time of need. After your heart is tampered and toyed with, leaving your emotions lost and wandering, where do you turn. You weren’t just trapped into the idea of being a distraction but in the end your emotions may have gotten the best of you.

Though it may seem shallow at times, appearance can be the making or breaking point when looking for a mate. When a person is being judged solely on their looks, makes it a little more difficult for single men and women to find a mate.

For men, especially those of ethnic background, it is commonly found that these men are quick to say or speak about a cultured woman, rather it is her hair, the way she dresses or her upkeep. Most of the time the focus is channeled to her hair. Women who invest in different types of hairstyles including highlights, dying, extensions or relaxed hair, is all in an effort to please not only themselves but the society around them.

At times it may be very challenging not to give in but women should try to stop competing with the next woman, remember being a woman is beautiful so embrace that.
Men, yes standards are set for a reason but try not to dismiss a woman because her hair isn’t just how you like it or her figure is not to your liking; women are emotional and fragile, keep that in mind.

Unfortunately there will always be a complaint about something because no one is perfect yet many of us strive to be that way and look the “part.”

Love at first sight?

Posted on: February 9th, 2013 by Executive Matchmaker Romella Battle

It’s a question that comes up often. So do you believe in love at first sight? Personally, I know some people do not believe in love at first sight, but rather attraction at first sight. There are people who do not believe in fate and destiny, there are those who acknowledge it but do not believe strongly in it and there are those who believe in it passionately.

Personally, I am one who does believe in fate, destiny and love at first sight. I’m not headstrong on it but I do believe that there is someone for everybody and that everything happens for a reason. Attraction at first sight? Definitely! Love at first sight? That’s more complicated because I feel like “love at first sight” stems from attraction at first sight.

This article that I found is called “Love at first sight, or in half a second”*. It basically talks about how quickly a person is pulled towards physical attractiveness when looking for a potential mate or when being protective of their current mate from other rivals. The article speaks about how the team found out that people are drawn towards attractive faces within the very first half-second of seeing them before even thinking about a possible mate or rival. They accomplished this finding by testing some university students, showing them pictures of either extremely attractive people or average-looking people for one second. By their reaction time, the team was able to discover that half a second is really all that is needed to decide if someone is attractive to the person or not. There are advantages and disadvantages of the study but if you want to read more, I have linked the article below!

The article definitely captured my attention since there is that popular question of if one believes in love at first sight. There’s so many different responses and explanations for their answers because there is definitely not just one correct answer.

So what do you think? Do you believe in love in first sight?
